Hello, My name is Joshua Lowder, I am a fourth year broadcast journalism major with a minor graphic design. A little bit about me I am from Ramstein, Germany, I was born on March 24th, and raised oversees because of my parents call of duty to the military. Father retired United States Army and Mother still works for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools Europe (DODDS-E) for the last 33 years. I am the son of John, and Deborah Lowder, and the middle child of five. Older sister Tiffany, older brother John, and twin sisters Angelika, and Makayla Lowder. While I have not had much experience in television reporting I do have some on camera experience from previous courses. I had a chance to practice my skills in broadcasting my junior year of college in my Broadcast Announcing course during the summer 2016. In this course, you are assigned to groups that functioned like news teams we were responsible for creating, pitching and preparing ideas. I was always assigned the role of interviewer. This role helped strengthen my interviewing skills, as well as my camera awareness and gave me more confidence along with a public speaking course that I took when I was in my first year in college. Not only do I have excellent public speaking skills, in addition I also have great writing skills as well. For example, I have written plenty of sheet music, lyrics and stories. This past school year I wrote and published my first book that was upload to Kindle and Amazon. College has opened my eyes to different forms of communication and its importance. My professors know me as a hard working student that is committed to his educational goals. This person is dedicated to being the best that he can be each and every day in their field of study. I have a high school Diploma from Ramstein High School, and a member of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars. I have maintained a 3.4 G.P.A. in college and have also earn Digital Literacy Certification at Tallahassee Community College and earn my A.A. Degree from TCC.
